Acclaimed best-selling Canadian author Louise Penny will be in conversation with writer and journalist Mellissa Fung about their new book The Last Mandarin (Minotaur, May 12, 2026), which follows a mother and daughter tasked with solving a global crime.
About Louise Penny Louise Penny is the widely acclaimed author of the Chief Inspector Gamache novels set in her home province of Québec, Canada. Her books have sold more than 18 million copies worldwide, topped American, Canadian and international bestseller lists, and been translated into 35 languages.
About Mellissa Fung Mellissa Fung is a veteran journalist, best-selling author, and award-winning filmmaker. Her last book, Between Good and Evil, debuted on the Canadian best-seller list for non-fiction in April 2023.

Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell: The Untold Love Story immerses audiences in the passionate but brief romance the iconic duo shared that shaped their songs, their lives and music history. The multi-media production will recount their mutual influence on each other’s works through stories and songs including the chart toppers “Hallelujah”, “Both Sides Now”, “Big Yellow Taxi” , “I’m Your Man” and many more.
The show features singer, songwriter, musician, and actress Dana Wylie and singer, songwriter and poet Joe Nolan.

Kuhlmann's Plant A Pot Party
Details:
Space is limited to 30 each day so please plan to register no later than May 24th.
When you register please note that you will need
to identify the specific day you plan to attend.
We will meet at Kuhlmann's at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM start time.
You need to bring a pot up to 18″ in diameter or you can purchase one at Kuhlmann’s. There will be no additional event fee this year however extra costs will be charged for oversized pots and specialty flowers.
Following the pot planting we will be heading off for lunch at Boston Pizza located at 15513 – 37 Street, Edmonton.
Vintage Characters' will provide the cost of the BP Lunch Special which includes a main, side and non alchoholic drink. Special orders or drinks (bills above $18) will need to be paid for by the individual.
