Hope Mission Downtown Location

Hope Mission Volunteer Opportunity

The Society of Vintage Characters continues to look for ways for members to volunteer within the community. We are currently working with Hope Mission on a new volunteer opportunity at the downtown location and will be running our pilot event in February.

Following the event we will meet at Tim Horton’s for coffee and conversation with the volunteer members and evaluate learnings to determine whether or not this is a program that will continue in 2026.

Date and Time

On Monday February 23rd - from 10:15 AM – 12:45PM at Hope Mission kitchens – we will be looking for 10 volunteers. Please plan to arrive by 10AM.

Information on parking and volunteer access:

There is 3 hour free parking on 107th Avenue between 99 St & 101 St OR 100 St between 106 & 107 Avenue.

Volunteers entering Hope Mission will enter at the rear entrance, in the alley, at the gate marked “Food Donations Volunteer Entrance". 

Hope Mission understands that their process takes a bit more time and paperwork, however since the majority of the volunteers are working in direct contact with vulnerable individuals, oftentimes in a shelter setting, they do need to take extra precautions to protect both the volunteers and those who are being served.

Waiver

You will be required to sign a waiver. Please review and be prepared to sign at the event.

Hope Mission Dress Code:

• Closed toed footwear – flip flops and sandals are not allowed.
• No sleeveless or skin-baring apparel, including tank tops.
• Legs must be covered to the knee – if you wear shorts, they must be knee length.
• No clothing with suggestive or offensive logos (including drug or alcohol related)

If you are not wearing the appropriate attire for your shift, you will not be allowed to serve for your shift at Hope Mission.
