Hello all!
Just wanted to let you know that Gerry has asked me, (with the help of my grandson Cole who also volunteers with me at CKUA) to oversee our donated hour of programming.
I have chosen and been given an hour of ‘The Wake up, Shake up’ on Saturday July 19th, from 9am to 10am. I chose this program for a couple of reasons… she is vivacious and full of life, she plays an eclectic mix of music so I am hopeful we can get some ‘oldies’ in there that speak to some of us and she also throws in some contemporary tracks which will certainly speak to Cole and the younger generation!
So please be sure to let everyone know so that we can all tune in that day and hopefully have a dance party!

And A Further Opportunity to support CKUA ...
Members of Vintage Characters who would like to further support CKUA also have the opportunity to sell 50/50 tickets at K-Days as part of their fundraisers.
CKUA has started running 50/50 raffles, with great success. They have brought in important additional revenue, augmenting their Spring and Fall fundraisers.
Now they have just received the go-ahead to be at KDays, selling 50/50 tickets on site. It's an incredible chance to spread awareness about CKUA and to bring in a potentially game-changing amount of revenue.
How Vintage Characters’ members you can help …
AGLC laws dictate that only volunteers can sell 50/50 tickets, so CKUA has a lot of shifts to fill.
From July 18 - 27 there will be three daily shifts:
12-3:30pm
3:30-6:30pm
6:30-10pm
What Vintage Characters' Members will receive ...
- You get general admission on the day(s) you volunteer
- You get a CKUA t-shirt
- You'll receive training on using the ticket machine (no cash)
- Staff will be on site to support you the entire time
- Snacks and refreshments will be provided
The CKUA tent will be set up right beside the Community Stage with varying performances (think music, think wrestling!) each evening
